Initial Ideas and Development

Initial Ideas

I looked at my lists of objects and chose my favourites to develop into ideas. Doing this will help me to narrow it down to one final idea for each and to have a rough idea of how I will create it and lay it out ready for when I start making them.

Final Ideas

I then chose my favourite ideas from my first sketches and developed them a little further. Having these will help me have a basic idea of how I am going to lay the objects out when creating the letters, but I may still be developing some of the designs further when it comes to making them if improvements can still be made.

Adjective research

After receiving some feedback I decided to look into adding some adjectives into my book instead of just objects to try and appeal further to the graphic designer target audience. I listed some adjectives for each word to help me explore various options.

I then drew out some quick sketches for the words I thought would work best in the book.

These were all a lot more complex then my other ideas and would have been a lot more time consuming to make, along with the fact the book may have become confusing with the mix of styles of typography. I really didn't want to overcomplicate things so I decided to stick with the final ideas I had drawn out above. Doing this helped me to realise that I was going in the best direction for my book, and it helped to explore other options as I knew I had tried every possible avenue for the book and could be sure I had chosen the best possible route.
